I have a 2014 mk4 2.0 163bhp diesel mondeo with 130k miles on the clock has always been a little hesitant to cold start (a second longer than you would hope usually). However I didn't use it for 2 days over new year, come the 2nd of Jan and the car wouldn't start, dead battery.
